Dear Fans of Let’s Do It!

The Let’s Do It Foundation kickstarted 2019 with the Clean World Conference in Tallinn, Estonia, with a forward-looking focus on the concept of the Keep It Clean Plan and its implementation, while also celebrating the amazing events of 2018. Now, the task for the foundation is to move from our role as a campaigner and mobilising force into promoting sustainable change in local communities all around the world, even as global cleanup efforts continue.

World Cleanup Day 2018 was a life-changing experience for millions around the world but was special to the coordinating staff in Tallinn - the culmination of years of work together.  At our peak, we numbered around 30 people but were joined by over 380 volunteers for the weekend. We would like to thank everyone who joined us. Surely, at some point in time (hopefully at World Cleanup Day 2019), we will meet again!

It also became apparent that World Cleanup Day is unstoppable - not repeating it was not an option - so we are overjoyed that Let’s Do It! Kosova stepped up to take on the global coordination of World Cleanup Day, 21 September 2019. Luan Hasanaj and his capable, ambitious team have been at the heart of the movement since 2010 and had outstanding success in 2018. We are sure they will add their own special seasoning to the event. Good luck, Kosovo! May the sky be your limit!

Now you wonder what will the crazy enough team members who decided to stay at Let’s Do It Foundation be doing?! Don’t worry! We have already started working on the new concept that will concur the world – in 10 years you will hear about “Let’s Do It! World movement who Kept the World Clean”. We will start by telling the world about the amazing concept of Keep It Clean and what does it mean in 5 different ways:

- CIVIC EMPOWERED POLICY MAKING

- LEARNING BY DOING, i.e EDUCATION

- IMPACTFUL AWARENESS CAMPAIGNING

- ENGAGING WITH BUSINESSES

- COLLABORATING WITH MUNICIPALITIES

COMMUNITY

The new and growing Facebook community presents a case study every week of implementing the Keep It Clean Plan. You can submit yours too by sending a message to the page. The @KeepItCleanPlan focuses on things YOU can do TODAY, behaviour patterns to address to #KeepItClean and myths to challenge, such as "waste to energy", recycling as a solution and other false solutions.
